I bought a backpack from Hermit\'s Hut. Before purchasing it, I called to ask a few questions regarding the one I was interested in, and another online I had found for a bit cheaper. They were both helpful and informative, as well as patient and polite. I would have liked to pay less for it, but that\'s nearly always the case with gear like this (unless you work for a shop and have the employee discount). These guys had one of the last pairs of of an old (unfortunately) discontinued line of Mountain Hardwear pants (convertible pack pant; pack pant is one of the best pants MH ever made. not sure why they discontinued) in my size to be found anywhere. Very cool. The price was fair. Great shop!

There was only one problem. Days passed and I had not received the delivery, nor had Hermit\'s Hut contacted me. When I phoned them, I was told that the item was backordered. They should have told me that shortly after I placed the order.

The guys at the store are realy nice and human. Nevertheless, i wasnt informed that they do not keep all equipment in stock - discovered this only a month after i already paid for everything but the shipment didnt even ship yet. After talking with the manager he upgraded the shipping to express for free. The equipment arrived realy in good condition and packed well - thanx alot! Although, there were mistakes with the size of one object and another object came that i didnot order - even though it ...

Knowledgeable staff, always friendly, and discounts on items other retailers don't normally discount. I've had many transactions with Hermit's Hut over the last couple years and have never been disappointed. When I need outdoor equipment, I go their website first to see if it's offered and it usually is. If you've never purchased there give them a shot at your business I think you'll be happy you did. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful I guess I\\'m having a different experience. Ordered a week ago and no word on when my order will ship. They have not responded to e-mail nor have they sent any confirmation. I\\'m glad I saved the order confirmation screen. I\\'m unimpressed with how slow they are and that they have still not responded to my e-mail after four days. I\\'m apparently going to have to call and track down my order status.
