do not order from this company if you are in the uk as you will be charged hefty import duties on your door step but UPS. this charge is on top of the shipping costs you have already paid making goods expensive!!
CUSTOMER BEWARE! STP uses deceiving Sales methods like not disclosing their Return Policy, hoping to get Customers to shop there. And after a while, they will refuse to give refunds for returned merchandise...reason being "too many returns on the acc...ount". That is unbelievable and unheard of for me, specially coming from an Internet based Retailer. They charge an-arm-and-a-leg for shipping, they false-advertise their merchandise, and they stiff their customers with not only huge shipping costs, but ultimately by refusing to process returns...they "refuse to do business with you". I ordered a rain jacket which turned out not to fit. By the time I returned it and paid for shipping to and fro, it was definitely not worth it. I'm out nearly $16.00. I've been a customer of this company for many years and only had an 'off' experience once (a missing pair of gloves) from a very large holiday order. They corrected it immediately (spoke to a cc person) and shipped a replacement no questions asked. I...'ve always read reviews and if an item is not rated and the only thing I've got to go on is the vendor's (not STP's own) description I check the same item out elsewhere - zappos/amazon/etc. for reviews and it's never a problem. Minutes very well spent. This minimizes hassle of returns for them and for me. Appreciate honest reviews and do the same for others' benefit. Some complain that they don't care for the biblical statement on check out. Guess what, no one is twisting your hand or wallet to patronize this business nor do they ask/make a judgment on what you do in your private time. One has an option to opt out with an existing account and I did, never to see it again. They run a fair business, deliver quickly and from what I've seen they allow all reviews - good and bad. i placed an order valued at around $300 dollars. i first tried to use paypal to pay for my order and they told me that they were incapable of having it shipped to any other address other than the billing address paypal had with me. stupid but ok... i... was shipping to a different address so i replaced that order and paid for it directly, giving them my credit card info. a week went by and i had heard nothing from them. i called them and this cs rep tells me that my credit card was denied and i should contact my bank. she had no transaction information other than that. i called my bank and they inform me that nothing has been denied and that the sierra trading post had never attempted to process a payment on my card. i call back to the sierra trading post and inform them that what the cs rep had told me was factually incorrect and that i was less than satisfied with being deceived as the reason why my order was cancelled. the cs rep was useless and they offered absolutely nothing to correct my order. this company horrible. they send you good offers that they make no attempt at honoring from what i can tell. their customer service is #$%$ and i was out right lied to. they cancelled my order without any notification. i would still be wondering where my ordered items were if I hadn't actively pursued the status of my order. there are too many other companies with much better service to waste your time with this company. Return policy is policed and they will 'discontinue their business relationship" with you if they think you return too much. I was a very loyal customer from 2009-2012. In 2011 alone I spent almost $2,000. I live in a rural area with very limited sho...pping and what I liked about Sierra was their friendly return policy. Shopping for a large family I like being able to order various sizes and styles and have them tried on at home and returned. NEVER have I returned something used or damaged or longer than possibly 45 days (and their policy is 180 days). In 2009 they sent me an email to 'warn' me that my return rate was excessive - yes, it was the 4th quarter and I was holiday shopping. Apparently I was a good customer in the interim. But in 2012 I received another email stating that since this was my second 'warning' they were going to 'discontinue their business relationship' with me if I continued to return items. REALLY???? I've been shopping for years from other companies like Land's End, LL Bean, REI, Nordstrom and Amazon and have never been chastised for my returns. I've decided to discontinue MY relationship with them. They failed to process and ship my order. Customer service was very rude on the phone. They have been absolutely unresponsive to my emails concerning processing and refunding my order. The purchase amount has not been refunded to my card. I'm livid. ...I'll never ever purchase from them again. I know this may sound like a "hater" review but I'm telling you...bad bad experience. I've had great experience ordering clothing from Zzapos, REI and others. Never anything like this. If there were a zero star option for customer service I'd give it to them.
