    Beware of Christmas Rebates from Tiger Direct - looking to steal your money

    The rebate system is a complete rip-off. Offering rebates on items during the Christmas season and then requiring them to be submitted before Dec 25th is a slimy and low life practice. I will not purchase from Tiger Direct again.

    TD charged my CC for antiviral software without my permission because i didn't "opt out" of the auto renewal. They said they sent several Opt out emails. Well i guess i didn't read the super fine print at the bottom of the seemingly hundreds of email...s i get from them. I had to call to confirm the charge was credited back after i cancelled the auto renew service online only after i got the auto renew email. The part that is worse is that i could not update my own account and profile to remove myself from their mailing lists AND i could not remove my CC information. I had to call a special number (the system was down and i was told to call again in 1/2 hour). These are all bad unethical software practices. if you're going only for price - beware and do your homework to make sure you know what they are doing with your email address and CC information.     honestly...I am a little upset over my recent experience with TD...they cancelled my order and did not email me even though this was the preferred and stated method of communication and not to mention that I had placed orders with them before. They j...ust cancelled it because they could not reach me. What a crock! that's okay..I ordered from Amazon..don't think it is coming from TD..guess their loss not mine. Read more Less

    I have been building a new pc two of the parts I ordered a board, and a power supply was both was DOA. Getting your money back is a hassle. They want to charge you a restock fee for something DEAD. So I guess the dead stuff others has sent back is wh...at you are getting. Read more Less

    I have to agree with the reveiws posted for this company. I spent several months and hours on the phone trying to get the $100 rebate offered by the company for a PC I had purchased a couple of years back. Similar story to those listed here...called ...several times to check status only to be told to resubmit the paperwork. They finally got tired of using that excuse and actually told me a check was going to be mailed soon. After 3 months of that storyline, I realized there would be no check . I would caution anybody buying a product based on a rebate to rethink. I believe the chances of actually receiving the promised refund are minimal at best. Read more Less

    Over the past 6 years, I've purchased thousands of dollars worth of PC parts, monitors, DSLRs, memory, and more from Tiger Direct. I seem to get everything I order properly and it arrives quickly - typically sooner than expected. I have yet to purcha...se any low-value brands or any refurbished items. My belief is that I would rather avoid the problems and simply buy top brand name products in new condition. I think ordering returns/refurbished items are a risk with any online vendor and not just TD. I typically shop online to review prices and get reviews on products before buying them. When I'm satisfied that I have found a solid product, I compare shop for price and 9 times out of 10 Tiger Direct has it at the lowest price. UPS usually gets it from Illinois to my home in Las Vegas in 3 days when shipped ground. I'll continue to trust TD until something goes wrong, but so far so good. Read more Less

    Ordered this product on March 3rd, 2010. I did my research before purchasing and have seen Samsung HDTV's on display in stores which prompted me to buy. I thought the picture was outstanding. I was not disappointed. Since this was my first HDTV purch...ase now that I upgraded to FIOS HD programming, I thought I'd start out with a 26" unit that would fit into my TV console and serve as a PC monitor later if I decide to get a larger one later in the future. It fits perfectly into my LR cabinet. I had a 27" Panasonic that weighed a ton before I got this. Very happy with it and the picture. On the bad side, I discovered that it won't read my older RCA DVD player which has Component jacks nor my old Sony VCR which has RCA jacks and a S-Video jack. This product appears to only read (signal) from newer components or over the HDMI inputs. I am now stuck with older model DVD/VCR units and just ordered a new Bluray DVD/VCR player that has HDMI output to the HDMI 2 input of the Samsung TV/Monitor. Also, if you try and register this product on-line you have to select office products not TV video products. It's considered a computer monitor not a HDTV. Read more Less
