Purchased shoes in August, 2012. Took forever to receive them since they were not in stock. When I did receive them they fit small even though I ordered the size I wear. During this time, my daughter broke her arm and had surgery and broke her foot. ...We also had 2 deaths in our family where we had to take care of our parents in their last days. This time period was a blur for us. Dealing with our personal day to day chores such as exchanging a pair of shoes was too much. When the dust finally settled at our home, I sent back the product which still had the tags on and original packing requesting the next size up. I apologized for the late exchange and explained our circumstances. They didn't care, they were going to go by their rules no matter what the circumstances were. How disappointing that they cannot see I would have been a customer in the future and that they could not see to over ride their rule in these circumstances. I have since donated the shoes since I cannot wear them due to the size. I should add, during this time I also had to exchange another product due to fit with another company who had the same policy on exchanges. I wrote them a letter as well to let them know why I was so late in exchanging. They didn't think twice. They didn't have the next size up in stock and they returned my money immediately. They listed a pair of shoes for 49.99 and of course when I clicked on the link to go to their store they didn't even sell the shoe. The strap on the shoes that we ordered (Orthaheel) tore off in less than 3 weeks and FootSmart refused to exchange or refund. I wrote to them for a month asking for exchange or refund, and they replied "unfortunately we can not offer exchange / refun...d, but here is your 15% off coupon". Very insulting. Shoes are not ment to last a month and FootSmart did not stand by their own policies. We will never buy from FootSmart again! Read more Less
Customer service is the worst at FootSmart.com. I ordered a wide width shoe and received a regular width shoe in a wide width box. When I called customer service the first time, the agent suggested that the shoe really was a wide width and that I u...ntie the laces of the shoe more fully. I explained very patiently that I had and that I wanted to exchange them for another pair and that I did not want to pay shipping again due to their mistake. I was told that I would receive a prepaid postage label in the mail in 7-10 days. I did not receive it, so after waiting 2 weeks, I called customer service again and the agent said that he would email me the label in minutes. I waited 24 hrs and when it did not arrive (I checked my spam and junk mail folders) I called again and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that the person answering the phone was a supervisor and explained the situation to them. The agent informed me that they had already done everything possible to satisfy me but that he would email me another label. I told him that I was logged on to my email account and that I would keep him on the phone until I received the label. Shortly after I purchased some items from FootSmart online, my email inbox was flooded with junk email: offers from just about everyone on the marketing spectrum. It was quite clear that FootSmart had sold out my email address to other merchants and ...marketers without my permission. Be careful on their site! In a very obscure location on the purchase page, you can opt out; if you do not opt out, they sell you out! When I contacted them to complain and to tell them not to provide my email to anyone else, they did not even give me the courtesy of a reply, and the junk email continues three months later. This merchant overcharged my credit card for shipping for shipping an incomplete order and did not notify me that part of the order would not be shipped with the rest of the order due to the item not being in stock and they would not be restocking. ...This did not allow me to cancel the order which I did not want if it was incomplete. Their customer service is uncooperative and was not willing to make any adjustment beyond a $1 credit. Also their shipping and handling fees are exorbitant compared to other merchants and shipping is by the slowest method possible. Read more Less
