    Another bad experience

    I found A Matter of Fax while shopping for a replacement bulb for my DLP television. I was on of the recommended sites when I searched for the bulb using Google and the ad displayed the bulb and one of the lowest prices with free shipping. I have ord...ered from other companies in this manner before and had good experiences. Assuming this experience would be the same, I followed the link to their website, found the bulb I needed and placed the order. My first disappointment was when the shipping method from "Free" to "Swift" at a charge of $17.30. This change was not noticed and I ended up authorizing the additional charge accidentally. I decided that I would let them have the money to get the bulb quicker, when in fact it took 6 days to receive my bulb. When I received the bulb it was well packaged and in new condition. I install the bulb and it does not work. I re-installed my old bulb and it worked fine! I contacted customer service for an exchange and was told they would send an RMA code and that return shipping was at my cost. I was also informed that they would do nothing until they received the defective bulb. I shipped the bulb overnight back to them at a charge of $9, not $17.30, and they received it the next day, not in 6 days. That was 4 days ago and I have receive zero correspondence from them since. I have attempted to contact customer service with no luck. So now, I am out $57 for a $30 bulb and have been dealing with these people for over 3 weeks! I am extremely displeased!     Asked for availability of projectors and salesman said several available so I ordered 2. They took my money, sent an email saying order will be filled then two days later I received another email stating the item is not available. Checked availabilit...y again and it is available but $250 more than the price listed when I bought my two. Called again and the salesman hung up on me. Read more Less

    Received a call saying they did not have the OEM version of the toner in stock seemed to be fishing for me to change to their refurbs. I said that I still wanted the OEM version.     I placed an order on March 20th for a laser printer cartridge. Upon checking the order status I discovered that I was charged over $72 for shipping when I was quoted much less upon checkout. One week later I check the order status again and my order ...still hadn't been shipped. On March 31st, I saw that my credit card had been charged but the order still hadn't been shipped. Finally, on April 8th I called the company to ask about the status of my order. The agent sent me a Fedex tracking number via email. I found out the order finally shipped on April 1st and expected to arrive on April 9th. So, in summary, it will take 20 days since I placed the order to get my order and they charged $72 to ship it. The cost really is no issue as I am going to write it off anyway, but I feel I couldn't have received worse service. Read more Less

    Bulb blew in our Sony TV, researched online and found A Matter Of Fax had the best price with free shipping for an XL-5100 bulb. I ordered the bulb and received an email the following day (after my card was charged) stating that I needed to answer a ...question before they could ship the bulb. I called and spoke with Joseph who said that the cheaper bulb that I had ordered wouldn't be available to ship until the following day, but he had a premium bulb that could ship right away. I told him no thank you, please just ship my original order. The following day I didn't receive a shipping confirmation email so I sent a request for my tracking number as had been promised. The day after that, my order was cancelled, my card was credited, and I was told that they could not ship the lamp due to an unforseen problem obtaining my item! However, a check of the website today shows the same bulb still for sale for the same price. BAIT AND SWITCH SCAMMERS!! Read more Less

    Do not buy from this company. They sell defective merchandise. They do not offer returns on the defective merchandise. They do not have any customer service. No one will ever contact you regarding the products or services. They have low prices and sl...ow shipping. I do not know how they can stay in business.     I was fooled by another rating site into placing an order. An advertised printer was not actually in stock, although the order status web page and customer service reps claimed everything was good and the order had been sent to the warehouse. What th...at means is they don't have it in stock, but it may take weeks to finally admit that fact - if you can get the warehouse manager on the phone. Read more Less

    Defective product and they won't pay for return shipping

    I ordered a Toshiba Lamp D95-LMP. I received it and it was defective. I sent it back, they did credit me however, they would not reimburse me for my shipping expense back to them which was $15. So, it cost me $15 to order a defective lamp from them a...nd I ended up with nothing. Very dissatisfied........will never order anything from them again and I will not recommend them to friends or family. Read more Less
