UrGiftin app is just in time for Valentine’s Day

UrGiftinUrGiftin AppUrGiftin is a free wish-giving app that will simplify your Valentine’s Day shopping and materialistic desires. It simply and efficiently showcases only the items a person wants, and then lets the buyer purchase the desired items directly from the app.

Think of it as a registry without a connection to a specific store. UrGiftin also serves as a personal assistant reminding you of special days and events such as birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and those other, personal, unofficial gift-giving occasions not marked on calendars.

For those big, pricey items UrGiftin has devised “group giving” allowing friends to chip in. Instead of getting several boxes of chocolates – which is totally cool, by the way – you can get the designer sunglasses you actually wanted.

Finally, the app allows you to create a community by inviting friends, follow their wish lists, and stay up to date on their activities (who is giving what, who is joining the app, etc.).

UrGiftinUrGiftinThe app comes to you by way of self-proclaimed “mompreneur” Vicky Ricuarte. A mother of two girls, Ricuarte is the co-founder and CEO “Chief Everything Officer” of UrGiftIn. She has more than 12 years of experience designing and implementing B2C and B2B channels for financial institutions, and a list of accomplishments that would be the envy of any LinkedIn member.

Before joining the entrepreneur world she was Vice President of electronic channels, customer service and operations for LATAM for a Boston health insurance company. She holds a Masters degree in Management from Harvard University and a Masters in Strategic Marketing from CESA. She is also an industrial engineer from Universidad de Los Andes. The Colombian Consulate at Boston recently featured Ricuarte in its January newsletter.

Perhaps her most interesting title is that of Director for Founder Friday Bogota. Founder Friday is a Women 2.0 event to promote the creation of new networks among aspiring entrepreneurs, current entrepreneurs and investors in innovative cities globally. Both men and women are invited to attend Founder Friday.

UrGiftInUrGiftInFounder Friday is hosted in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Austin, New York, Boston, Madrid (Spain), Barcelona (Spain), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago (Chile), Bogota (Colombia), Mexico City (Mexico), Vancouver (Canada) and more cities coming soon.
