Tankless Water Heaters
It's all over the news: Tankless water heaters offer better energy efficiency than conventional storage water heaters. I had a company come and give me an evaluation I was told that I needed a 3/4" gas line as opposed to the 1/2" existing. Can someone tell me if this is true?

To answer JOHN;yes it is true,because to produce the required hot water,your tankless must put the water thru a heat exchanger,which is a 'restriction',so you do need a 3/4"line to supply the unit to deliver the proper amount of gas....and by the way,i've had one in my house for weel over 5 yrs,and it works like a dream...

These things seem to be popular where I live. I would imagine that massive amounts of gas / electricity would be needed to heat the water, so I'm skeptical about the price savings.
