    Vizio TV the Best

By Paul  Aug 21, 2012 | 2 out of 2 found this Vizio E422VLE 42" LCD TV review helpful

    Pros: Everything and then some

Cons: support is so-so but OK. Could be better.

I have only ever bought JVC, Panasonic, big names and was leary about Vizio but for $489.00 at WalMart this is worth over a grand with all it's applications. Run my computer off it and don't even have to put my computer on. Has a ton of computer apps... included. Plenty of plug ins for HDMI, Ethernet, wireless routers and much more. Could use a remote with the alphabet on it to fill in the words you have to do. Can do it on the TV but on the remote would be easier. But crisp picture, great sound and no need for added speakers believe me. All for under $500. bucks and an extra 2 years and 90 day warranty plus the 1 year free warranty for an extra $35. bucks. A real bargain and an up and coming company. I'd buy another one in a second. Highly recommend it. Why spend $1500. just because it says JVC or Panasonic or Sharp. Vizio is for real. Read more Less

Very Poor Customer Support From Vizio

    By Christopher  Mar 17, 2013

    Pros: Low Price

    Cons: Black Level, Flesh-tones

I bought this TV (Vizio E422VLE) on August 19, 2012 because I wanted an inexpensive TV for my bedroom. The picture quality isn't all that great (Blacks & Flesh-tones are awful), but the price was low, so you get what you pay for. By the beginning of ...March 2013, the Vizio logo on the front of the TV will no longer illuminate when you power the TV off. Since the color of the Vizio Logo is used for diagnostics (white on, orange off), I called Vizio customer support to let them know about my issue. After the customer service rep spoke to me, she put me on hold and contacted a service representative. The service rep diagnosed the problem to be a failing LED. The customer service rep put me on hold and started to set up a service visit. When she came back on the line, the customer service rep told me that Vizio will not repair the failing LED since the picture and sound on the TV are still working. I really can't believe that Vizio will not repair the failing LED that illuminates the Vizio logo on the front of the TV. The color and flash rate of the logo are used for diagnostic trouble codes when a problem arises with the TV circuitry. Now I have no way to tell what the problem is when a part inside the TV fails. It also amazes me that this is their "LOGO" that will now not illuminate when the TV is off. It is supposed to be a bright orange "VIZIO" logo showing off their brand name. If Vizio won't repair something as simple as a failing LED, the horror stories I have read about Visio Service on all the A/V forums must indeed be true! Granted it would cost Vizio to send a repair person to my house to fix the problem, but they must not really care about their products being 100% functional. This is the first and the last Vizio product I will ever purchase. Read more Less
