    Pros: Boots natively in MacOS 9.2.2 or MacOS X

    Cons: 1MB L3 cache is adequate, but small, low RAM

    I bought this Mac new for $1199.00 from Best Buy on a clearance deal. It worked right out of the box beautifully. The computer was amazingly fast compared to my previous Macintosh 8600 and I really enjoyed the dual boot options. I think this is ac...tually a better Mac than one that only boots in MacOS X like the G5.The only things I did not like about this Mac were the VERY small 256MB RAM installed...it needed a RAM upgrade right away to be useful with all my programs. And although the 1MB L3 cache is rated at 250Mhz, it would have been a better Macintosh if the cache was 2MB.Of course there is a dual processor version of this Mac with the 2MB L3 cache, but the cost for the extra 1.25Ghz G4 with 2MB L3 cache per processor is $325.00!In all this Mac is one of the best I have ever owned and I have no regrets about purchasing it. I feel lucky to have a Mac that still boots in MacOS 9! Get yours while you can! I suspect these will be discontinued December 31, 2004. Read more Less

    This is beyond any of the computers I have previously used and it ranks better than any PC I have encountered. The MacOS X and MacOS 9 Operating Systems make using this computer a snap, unlike the WindowsXP, WindowsME and Windows 2000 & 1998.
