    Nook Tablet

By Richard E.  Dec 24, 2011 | 5 out of 5 found this Barnes and Noble Nook 7" 16 GB Wi-Fi Grey Tablet review helpful

Pros: great screen - clear text & color images, useful apps,B&N great reading selections, Help on questions in any B&N store, Receive and send E-mail easily

Cons: web browsing could be a little faster

I got my Nook Tablet a few weeks ago and love it. I got an SD card and easily loaded my music to play through my earphones while I read. I downloaded some apps which are very useful and some games which actually exceeded my expectations for a small t...ablet. I could easily load some pictures which I can use as wallpaper. It is great for reading as you can adjust font style and size and it's a lot easier to hold than a full size tablet. I like the built-in dictionary and that it "remembers" where you stopped reading. I also use it to check the weather report each morning. Read more Less

    Great hybrid device

By Ken  Dec 22, 2011 | 6 out of 6 found this Barnes and Noble Nook 7" 16 GB Wi-Fi Grey Tablet review helpful

Pros: Price, screen, weight, general feel

Cons: Limited Apps, limited free storage without expansion

I received my Nook Tablet as an early Christmas gift. So far, I've loved it. It's a great hybrid device and an entry level tablet.Reading on the device is easy. With wifi turned off, I get 10 hours of reading consistently without the battery dying. I...t has a great feel compared to other tablets this size due to the skin and edges of the device. The screen is responsive and the sound is decent. While not true HD, the screen is sharp and streams videos with good quality. Price is about what you would expect for the features of the device. It's not an iPad, but works well for general uses. My wife is not into gadgets and it does everything she could ever want. I am into gadgets, and while it has limitations, it's pretty awesome. I do not like how few apps there are, and the apps that are available tend to be more expensive than on other devices. This is not a deal breaker for me, but it is something to consider. All productivity apps I want are there, but it doesn't have near the games I would like. The device boasts a reasonable 16GB of storage, but only 1GB is available as free storage for your files or music. You can expand with a micro SD card, but even so. I picked up an 8GB card for $10. Support for the device is incredible. Just walk into any Barnes and Noble store and tell them what problems or questions you have, and they'll fix you right up!Overall, I love my Nook Tablet and plan on buying another for my wife. It's not an iPad, but I like the size better for portability reasons. Read more Less
