    Pros: Simple to Use

    Cons: Needs Wi-Fi to Set It Up

    I received this Kindle as a gift. It is very basic, which is all I wanted. It was frustrating to have to go to a wi-fi spot to set it up, but I can download books from my computer going forward.

    Pros: Easy to read

    Cons: Does not work

    I opened my new Kindle with much expectation - three days later I threw it away. First it told me it needed to locate a Wi-Fi station and it set about doing that. But no luck. It was not able to sign on to any station. I tried for three days with the... same result. Then the damn thing just froze up. Would not turn on or off or even take a charge. It just died. No wonder Apple rules the world. I'll get an Apple next. But never again a Kindle!!!! Read more Less

    Limited but meets needs

    Pros: easy to read

    Cons: controls are glitchy

    Was always against the whole eReader idea. then I won Kindle (basic). Entering text is like being back in the 80's (move a cursor to get to the next letter etc.). However, I bought a couple books online from Amazon (you could get carried away with th...at) and then started to discover free sources of all kinds of books. It's really just text (often hard to tell where your at in a book), but when you can get tons of free stuff, I'm, all for it. Read more Less
