I have a both reels, FRC4000 and FRC6000 reels. Well, i've used them in very rough places, like a rocky shore jetty, sandy beaches and dropped in the salt water a few times. In my opinion, they are decent tough reels, made from aluminum alloys, with ...very few plastic trim/inserts. And for it's class/price they are OK. A little too heavy on the overall weight, but sturdy enough to stay alive after a season of extremely heavy use. Indeed, FRC FIERCE REELS Look very good in black finish with red trimmings. They are attractive/neatly made.Twice in this season i had to disassemble and clean sand and re-lube them. and on 6000 series the line guide/bail roller started failing from time to time by opening half way when i try to yank the fish. That is very bad. Also, in comparison, i also used PENN Pursuit reels of the same size ( 4000 and 5000) Well, i found them more reliable, and a very pleasant finding was .. both FIERCE and PURSUIT reels have many interchangeable parts, Spool cap, spools, and handles are easily swapable from one to another. So , My verdict: I would go for PENN PURSUIT rather than FIERCE , although FIERCE FRC(s) look more "Stand out".Fierce series are good reels in it's price range, but Pursuit are cheaper, lighter, and proven to be a little more reliable than FIERCE.
