    Pros: fast, reliable, simple, and reasonably priced

    Cons: I do not have a "con" for these printers yet.

    I have used Brother printers for over 10 years. As a teacher I print 80+ copies at a time. I have just purchased this Brother Laser Printer, and if it is as good as my HL1440, it will work efficiently and reliably for years to come. Easy to operate w...ith little maintenance (replacing ink cartridges), it is a great printer at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a simple to operate black laser printer, this is a good printer. Read more Less

    Pros: easy to use, long lasting ink

    Cons: yes, cartridges are a little pricey but....

    I love this machine. I bought it for my classroom since I'm out in the trailers and cannot always run inside to the copier room to make last minute copies. I love the duplex features and toner saver feature since it allows me to save paper. Yes the c...artridges are a litle expensive, but really no more than most. I was given an Epson all in 1 printer for my classroom before I bought the Brother. It needed 3 print cartridges(black,cyan and magentaI think). Literally after I printed 20 pages, it was giving me the warning sign that I'm running "out of ink". I only printed black and white worksheets for class???So it stopped printing for me. It is annoying because if one of ink cartridges in low, but the others full, the WHOLE thing messes up. The Brother printer's cartridge(High Yield) lasted about 5 months and it started saying "Low Ink" warning the end of May. It is now July and I'm still printing getting every drop I can out of it. I have another cartridge in my house, but this one is still producing legible, decent copies. I've printed over +/-400 pages so far since the sign showed up on my screen and I'll keep going.
