Cons: Poreclain paint on bottom cannot withstand heat

We bought a 10 piece set of KitchenAid non-stick cookware, red with porcelain enamel paint in Feb/2011. Only used it occasionally in our winter residence. Last night we cooked some pasta in the 6 quart pot and the red enamel paint melted onto the coo...ktop surface. I called KitchenAid to see if they would replace it and they said it was not a defect in manufacturing; we must have let the pot overheat. I said we had to boil water and let the pasta cook for about 20 minutes but it was nothing out of the ordinary. Their response was once again that the pot was fine and if we shipped it back to them most likely they would return it would a note to that effect. We are going to buy another set of pots from a different manufacturer and needless to say are disappointed that KitchenAid would not make good on their "lifetime limited warranty". Read more Less
