The WFW94HEXW is the best machine out!

By DavidB  May 12, 2011 | 11 out of 12 found this Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW White 27-in Washer review helpful

Pros: 24 Min wash cycle, 1400RPM spin speed, biggest washer on the market

    Cons: Heavy, Expensive

Anyone that has written a poor review of this machine is an idiot. This is the newest machine Whirlpool makes and they have perfected the front load washer, sure they have older model duet washers and dryers that are no where near as perfected as thi...s machine and I can agree they did have many of the issues that have been described in these reviews, but you are ripping apart the wrong model Whirlpool duet washer. You can't blame a company for having issues with their products when they were first developed. Thats what you get for buying them when front loaders were first released in America, of course there are kinks but this new model is like their 8th generation front load washer. They have perfected it. You guys are confused about the model. The WFW94HEXW is the best washer on the market ten fold, Just look at consumer reports, it has the #1 rating for front load washers. It has the shortest wash cycles, the largest drum in the industry, and is one of a few washers out there (Whirlpool, and Maytag) that actually has a fan inside of it to dry out the tub and eliminate the mold, mildew, and smell issues. It also has one of the highest spin speeds on the market right now at 1400 RPM.Yea of course your going to pay for that type of quality and features! This machine takes all maintenance out of the equation! I have had this washer for about 4 months and I can assure you it is the best washer I have had in my life. I can't believe you are saying you would never purchase a whirlpool product when it has come this far and is now the best that money can buy and more than 80% of their products are manufactured in America, where as, other companies manufacture more like 40% of their products in America. As far as I am concerned I will never purchase anything other than a Whirlpool, Maytag, or Kitchenaid (All of which are made by Whirlpool and the majority are made in America). If you want to rip their products so be it, but when you are online in a couple years posting poor reviews about your new GE washer that blew up or your LG that you bought but the company refuses to service or your Samsung that you can't find parts for, I bet you will go back to owning a Whirlpool. 5 years and still perfect

By Marie  Apr 23, 2011 | 7 out of 8 found this Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW White 27-in Washer review helpful

Pros: durability, capacity, cleaning power, craftsmanship

Cons: a little too loud, limited features menu

My cousin installs and services appliances for large condo complexes and upscale homes. He recommended this washer, dryer combo to us when we purchased our house. Based on his 30 years in the business, he stated that Whirlpool is the best on the mark...et in all categories that matter. He has been absolutely spot on in his opinions! After more than five years of almost daily use, this pair has performed flawlessly. Unless you insist on your washer and dryer to look like highbrow art in your laundry room, then this may not be your first choice. Not the coolest looking machines on the market, but certainly the best built all around machines available. Read more Less

    Whirlpool, Never Again !!

By wht  Mar 23, 2011 | 4 out of 11 found this Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW White 27-in Washer review helpful

    Pros: saves water

Cons: expensive detergent, loud, broke after 2 years, died after 7

Bought a Whirlpool Duet GHW9100lw1 brand new back in Nov of 2003 for $1000. After 2 years the water inlet valve stuck allowing water to fill up the tub and leak out through the open door onto the floor. Ruined ceiling below. It was recommended to lea...ve the door open to help prevent mold. Too expensive to fix, told wife to shut water off at inlet valve after each use. After 7 years and 3 months, a bearing on the motor shaft went. A search of the web revealed it to be a common problem costing $600. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. Quality is low. SEWAGE ODOR PROBLEM

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 12, 2011 | 2 out of 7 found this Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW White 27-in Washer review helpful

    Pros: NONE

    Cons: BAD ODOR PROBLEM

We had two sets each created methane (sewage) odor similar to sewage! Company replaced 1st with 2nd steam cycle and problem persisted. Lowes admitted no solution and replaced with top loader which has same odor problem. This is now the subject of a c...lass action lawsuit (google it). DEFINITELY A DO NOT BUY! Read more Less

    Love my Whirlpool

By Melodicdreamer  Apr 24, 2011 | 2 out of 2 found this Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW White 27-in Washer review helpful

Pros: Washes well, efficient, quiet, easy to use

    Cons: Long cycles

I have been using my duet washer and dryer for a year and am just as happy with them now as I was when I got them. For many years I lived in an apartment, doing laundry in the coin operated machines, so that is what I am comparing these to. Those mac...hines were on the fritz pretty often (frustrating), but they were fast with about a half hour wash and same for the drying. After the first wash with the duet I was amazed by how clean the whites came, even the older ones, although the wash and dry each take almost an hour. I haven't had a problem with either of them, but it has been a year and don't have children (caveat). With the door closed to the laundry room, you can't hear them running. Using much less water, relying on the spin cycle, and moisture sensing, these are some efficient machines. I can't rate support since I haven't needed any. As for features, I have seen some washers that do everything but the dishes and maybe vacuum, but for the money these are an exceptional value in my humble opinion. There was a comment mentioning something about expensive detergent that makes me need to say they must be using way too much. Since detergents are basically just there to soften the water, when the washer doesn't use much you don't need to use much detergent; it is noted on the cap how much to use (I spend less on detergent now than I did with the old top loading water hogs). Whirlpool Duet

By justfacts  Apr 22, 2011 | 1 out of 1 found this Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW White 27-in Washer review helpful

    Pros: Handles lots of laundry

Cons: broke three times over five years

We have a large family a use this everyday. Purchase in 2006, had to fix something a year later, then something else another year later. The door handle broke so it's sticky to open the door, water has leaked-out on more than one occasion. Neverthele...ss, for the amount of work this work horse has taken I'm surprised the motor is still functional and I feel it's still a good buy. Read more Less

Wish I had my old machine back

By Yahoo! Shopping User  May 7, 2011 | 1 out of 2 found this Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEXW White 27-in Washer review helpful

    Pros: Has second rinse cycle

Cons: Hour or more per load, and then not clean

This machine might save water, have not noticed on the water bill, but it take twice as long as my old Whirlpool, and one of the cycles is 2 hours!

    control module broke

    By Rusty  May 13, 2011

Pros: did good job while it worked

    Cons: VERY expensive to repair.

Our upper control module malfunctioned and the repair man said it was very expensive to fix. I looked on line and found them in the $275 to $350 dollar range. I am so happy with my new LG set!
