    Pros: Fast, awesome image quality, good low to medium light overall

    Cons: Side pop up flash

    Love this camera, have had it for about 6 months. Took it too the Galapagos islands as my main camera for land photo's. AMAZING image quality. Blew up two 8 by 10's that are stunning panorama's that the camera took of the islands. Low light is good, ...and at dusk or dawn, images are awesome. The only thing I don't like is the side pop up flash. Why Nikon would build such a great camera and not fix the flash into it is beyond me. Weird, but regardless, it is well worth the $219.00 I paid for it at WalMart. No problems here. I even dropped it from about 6 feet by accident onto a tile floor, and the only thing that happened was the battery popped out. Relatively durable, but slippery. Would recommend for anyone that travels a lot and wants to take great pictures of their children on trips or holidays. Compact and great overall as long as you have a bit of camera knowledge.     Pros: Nice pictures

    Cons: Annoying sharp ear popping sound when taking photos. Also the flash keeps popping up...and more placement for flash. My hand always hits it.

    It could be a very nice camera if they fixed some flaws I see with it. The flash always pops up and is in a poor location, right where you hold the camera. Very annoying. The sound when you snap a picture is so shrill and sharp it almost hurts your e...ars. My dog runs for cover...can't blame him. Not impressed for the money. Read more Less

    Horrible - Will break!

    Pros: Good pictures

    Cons: Not durable. Flash button pops out and is annoying

    I do not typically write reviews but I had to on this camera after my horrific experience with Nikon. I had the S8100 for just over 3 months and experienced a lens error. I sent it back because this issue is usually covered under warranty, but becaus...e it had a little dent on the bottom they said the error was contributed to physical damage and was no longer under warranty. This was utter crap and a way for Nikon to get around paying for the costs to fix the camera. Who doesn't have a dent on their camera? I got a new one and that one broke 2 months after as well. All in all, this is not well-built product and Nikon's customer service is horrible. With all of the cameras out there, spend your money on something else and not Nikon! Read more Less

    I have an error lens and cant use my camera anymore,,,I would not buy any nikon product anymore
