    Purchased my GP5500 July 9th 2012. 1st time I used it was on September 8th for four hours. The unit is LOUD and vibrates too much. The welds were so poorly done on the unit that the bracket that holds one of the weels on brock. Not much fun trying to... move it back into the garage with one wheel. Read more Less

    Brand new Leaking Oil

    Pros: Worked ok during use

    Cons: Leaks oil

    I bought this new on Sunday to be prepared for Hurricane Sandy. It started right up after assembling and ran through the night but when I went out in the morning it was leaking oil from the bottom of the oil case. Must be a bad seal. For the cost I j...ust don't think this generator should be leaking oil after a few hours of use. It's under warranty but costing me $52 to have the service location pick it up. I hope the repair is quick and the issues are done with this unit, I can't return it based on store policy. Disappointing. Read more Less

    Pros: Price

    Cons: Loud

    Were lucky enough to get our hands on this generator 2 days before Hurricane Sandy and lucky to only need it for one day. It's pretty loud, but no louder than any of our neighbor's generators. It was easy to put together and started right up. We comp...ared a lot of prices and got ours from Lowe's for around $700 (tax included). Many other brands were a lot higher. I guess the true test of quality will come if and when we ever need to use it for days at a time, but for now we are satisfied. Read more Less
