Well let me tell you about this receiver. Well for one this thing is a BEAST!!!! I can hear alot of things with this receiver. The THX Select 2 certification ensures that you get a top notch theater sound in a small to medium size room. The 1015 has ...an Direct mode and that mode turns off all video processing and your audio will have a pure sound than regular stereo. It has all of the latest and greatest surround formats. For ex. Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic, DPL II and DPL IIx, DTS ES matrix and discrete surround and as well as the DTS Neo:6 modes and DTS 96/24 as well as THX. Also the unit has a MCACC circuit. It comes with a microphone and it will send it test tones from the speakers and it will tell the receiver the distance and what size speakers you may have. sometimes it is right or wrong. But you can change your speaker settings if they are not correct. For music, the 1015 is a great sounding receiver. Especially if you were to listen to Classical music through 2 channel stereo or the Awesome Direct mode. For Home Theater, the receiver has enough power to power your speakers with even the most demanding movies. The only bad thing I have to complain is the remote. While the remote is an awesome remote, it does not have a backlighted keypad. but nevertheless it is still an awesome remote.
