What a waste of money

Pros: It has Heat and A/C as well as options for sleep and timers

Cons: You can't keep one working

We bought a Soleus Heat Pump / A/C. We spent $542 for it after saving for months on our minimum wage jobs. We wanted a good unit as we live in Phoenix where the summer temps run 115 and higher. The unit lasted several months and we shut 'er down thro...ugh the fall. We turned it on in January when our cold snap hit and it was beautiful. The cold lasted only a couple of weeks and then we shut 'er down again. In April the temps began climbing and we turned it on to discover squealing that would rival castration without anesthetic. We contacted the company and were told to ship it to them and they would replace it. The shipping was $56 and the boxes cost us $30. $80 out of pocket to replace the unit. The replacement was no good and did nothing. We ended up returning it as well adn they sent us a third one. It, too is a piece of **** and they will not replace it again. The warranty has expired and they do not offer a new warranty with the replacements. We are out over $600 and are only hopeful that we will end up with a working unit. This company has no code of ethics, no pride of workmanship, and sells second rate products at high prices. We bought a similar A/C unit at Sam's Club (without the heat) for half the price and are very happy with it. I highly recommend you do the same. Don't waste your money. Read more Less
