Pros: everything about this player is great

Cons: $50 more than ipod, but it's worth it.

This player offers everything that Ipod does and much much more. The unit is solidly built no annoying plastic component. Sony offers a choice of 5 colors (red, black, silver, pink and blue) incompare with Ipod oh so boring white!. The best features ...is the much longer battery life so you don't have to charge your unit so often. Eventhough Sony states that it should last 30 hours long, I test my unit and it lasts around 25 hours which is much longer than the Ipod could offer. The problem is this unit costs $50 more than the Ipod but you get $50 worth of music download from connect. If anyone debates between the Sony NW-HD3 and the Ipod (20mb). Stop! Get the Sony one and you won't regret it. Read more Less

Pros: Small, fast transfer, great sound quality, not Apple!

Cons: Transfer type, connection to pc

Its good if you plan to use it on one pc, and only if you plan to put music to it nothing else. It must be connected to a power source in order for transfers to pc to work, and you must use the horrible sonic software that comes with it to transfer m...p3 files, copy and paste works but the player cant see mp3 files unless they are transfered, encrypted, and cataloged using its software. So you can use it as a hard drive only if you carry the charger with you, and in order to listen to something you have to use their software. Its only Windows compatible! And in order for it to transfer you have to register with SONY, which i find to be a little over the top. Bottom line, too restrictive, SONY treats everyone like pirates of the carribean... Sony Network Walkman NW-HD3 (20GB, Blue)

Sony's 20GB HD3 may not have the HD1's looks and battery life, but its native MP3 support and flashy new colors make it a better choice overall. Read more
