    Pros: Great suction. Retractable Cord. Bagless. Love it.

    Cons: Cord could be longer.

    I have owned 3 or 4 vacuums over the last 12 years, and this one is the best of the bunch. Most of them were Bissel models, and I have been a fan of the bagless models, ever since the first ones came on the market back in the late 90's. I decided to ...try this Hoover out when my previous Bissel lost all suction after about 3 years and was in the market for a new vacuum. The suction on this is great. It was dragging my 9' x 12' area rug in the living room around like nothing! I haven't ever had a vacuum do that. It picks up the dirt well on bare floors as well as carpet. The retractable cord feature is great, as winding up the cord was always one of my least favorite aspects of vacuuming. And the hose and attachments work well on my stairs and furniture. The only negative is that the cord could be longer, and I now have to change plugs when going room to room in the house. The Bissel I had previously had a cord long enough that I could plug it into an outlet in the central room and I could do the whole 1st floor without unplugging. 4.5 stars out of 5. Read more Less

    Pros: good suction

    Cons: retractable cord

    It is true that this vacuum has great suction and a retractable cord. But Beware!!!!!!! I accidently ran over the cord and because it's retractable the WHOLE unit inside needs to be replaced (not just the cord). Three different repair places could no...t get the part because it is on Back Order and could take up to SIX months to come in!!!! Oh!! the part needed, costs $75.00 PLUS the cost to replace it! Needless to say this 2 month old vacuum went into the trash. NEVER buy a retractable cord vacuum! Also was told Hoover sold to another company and parts are hard to come by. Read more Less

    Don't do it!

    Pros: easy to empty receptacle

    Cons: poor suction, extras quit working

    The first use was wonderful. The second use the stair/furniture attachment quit working. Hoover blew me off. Rudely. I had my receipt. After the sixth use it no longer had suction. I cleaned the filter, checked the hose and powerhead the best I could... and found no obstruction. Now six months later the filter on the front pops out while running. I checked it also to see if it needed to be replace already and it looks fine too. I went cheap and cheap is what I got. Read more Less

    I bought this vacuum a few weeks ago on AMAZON.COM ($99) & I LOVE it ! I use it everyday & I'm amazed that it picks up as much dirt/debris as it does! In fact the first time I used it I had to empty the canister 2x GROSS & I had used my old vacuum th...e previous day ! It also works pretty well on my lino & laminate floors & the attachements work well on my furniture. It picks up pet hair & other smaller particles w/ ease. I live in a ranch so I don't have to worrry about stairs but, it's fairly lightweight! I like the retractable cord even though it's a bit short. I use an extention cord which is no problem ! I like that the canister is easy to empty & you don't have to touch anything- I use the brush to knock off any dirt/debris that may get stuck! I've used it everyday for about 2 wks & I have yet to wash the filter... Looking forward to SPRING CLEANING w/ this awesome vacuum ! I would like to point out that this appliance if used regularly will need maintance so if you take care of it - it should work for a long time! Read more Less
