Pros: Nice Camera easy Features
Cons: No pre-shot image on screen
I have always had Nikon camera's and this camera is comparable in quality. The only down side to this camera is that you must use the viewfinder when shooting photos as the rear screen does not have a feature to view the shot before you take it. You can only view the picture on the screen after you shoot the picture.
Pros: great product
Cons: none
This is a great product
Pros: works much like a 35MM
Cons: none for me personally
I have owned a Nikon 35MM for years and have always gotta wonderful tech support and warranty service from this company.
I am a claims supervisor and have dealt with many other camera companies and Nikon has one of the best customer service support systems I have ever dealt with professionally or personally.
I resisted the change to a digital because I enjoyed the 35MM so much and did not think the quality of the digital matched that of regular film. As film started becoming more obsolete I began checking out digital cameras. I asked friends and family and even researched consumer reports on the internet.
I found both the D3000 and D5000 to be my best choice. I chose the 3000 over the 5000 because it handled and felt more like my 35MM. I did not need or want the rear live view and had no need for the video feature of the 5000. It was a matter of personal choice for me.
I also like the fact that the zoom and wide lens that I had on my 35MM also interchange with the digital. The only down side to them is they do not have the vibrate reduction that the digital lens have so you have to be very still and manual focus for every shot.
I am extremely pleased with this new camera and although I still occasionally use my 35MM I get the same great quality pictures with my digital.
Pros: Easy to use features, amazing clarity!
Cons: No pre-shot view on LCD Screen
This is a great camera for the amateur photographer! Whether you are shooting sports, children, landscape or fun moments this is a wonderful piece of equipment to have in any home!

Pros: Great pictures!

This is the first Nikon camera i've ever used. I am more of a canon person but i am quite impressed with the features of this camera! It takes beautiful pictures and is a very good price to! The only con i can see with it is no videos but it you don't want/need to make videos this should be ok!
