Pros: Looks cool
Cons: Everything else
OK, my wife had to have this and for the first 5 weeks it really worked well. 5 weeks later, it stopped and to call dyson and expect support haha. Customer disservice department has still not sent the work order over to the local vaccuum repair. Neve...r again will I buy another dyson product. What a shame. Read more Less
Pros: Every thing about it.
Cons: Little holes in filterless housing gets coverd with lint.
Love it and have enjoyed using it from day one. ive had a new motor installed with not a issue from start to my call to pick it up. I would say it was my best choich. And ive owned some nice ones.
Pros: Suction is better than Hoover and all others
Cons: Upright needs extension hose to reach high places. Only alternative, buy canister Dyson in addition to owning upright - way too expensive to own two Dyson!
I love my Dyson DC28. It cleans the best for the locations it "can reach". Not enough attachments - need better attachment for carpeted stairs, and additional longer hose to accommodate long reaches. I checked with Dyson and at this time its not avai...lable. Would have to also buy the canister version and, still, the short hose there would be a problem. Also, as expensive as the Dyson is, additional attachments are very pricey. Still, it is the best made vacuum I have ever owned. Read more Less
Cons: cannot use as advertised on wood floors
I bought the DC28 From Best buy to use as a combo unit on floors with Brazilian cherry and carpet. The very first time I used it on the wood the unit cut an 18 inch long groove in my cherry floors. The roller carriage has edge tracks that should retr...act when lowered....they didnt and the suction is so strong it pulled it down and into the floor. I endured a litinay of dealing with Dyson reps and sending photos.Even after the store sales people agreed that the tracks projected farther than their store model...a rep from Dyson also agreed the tracks stuck down farther than they should... which is stupid...they cut grooves inn the floor. I sent the unit back and they then replied that there was nothing wrong and send a replacement. Guess what?? It cut my floor again. Another round of complaints got mw a refund but no floor repair. This product and company is a sham. Read more Less
Pros: Awsome sucktion capability
Have had this vacuum for over 3 years and my wife and I love it. It is definately the best I've ever used. Will never buy anything else.
Pros: True to form, never looses suction. Stupid easy to empty! Cleanable filter.
Cons: Attachment space is limited. I have extra attachments that will eventually get lost. And the space on the unit itself is good use of space but I'm sure it could be improved upon.
Over all I'm completely satisfied with my one of my few good purchases as an adult. Mine is purple and I got it new and I like to believe I will have it the rest of my life.
Pros: The attachments are convenient to use
Cons: lost suction power.
This machine worked for about 5 -6 months and then lost it's suction power. It was if it had died a slow death. I would never recommend this machine to anyone.
Pros: Fantastic DEEP cleaning, quiet, highly efficient
We bought our DC28 a little over two months ago. We have had Electrolux (canister), Panasonic (upright), Sears Elite (upright), Hoover Wind Tunnel and several others in the $250-$350 range previously. With two dogs whose function seems to be to shed,... we were constantly vacuuming up pet hair. Worse we were constantly taking the da-- Vacs apart to clear up hair jams in the hoses and elsewhere. This Airmuscle not only picks up ALL the hair easily, it does so without our having to dismantle it every time we use it. Fast, quiet, THOROUGH cleaning. What else could one ask for? By the way, we went on E-Bay and bought ours, with all attachments, from an authorized factory-direct refurb store for $389!!! Came with full 5 year warrantee and I couldn't tell the difference from the store version other than that it came in a generic brown box. The cord is also longer than most of our previouys models which means more vacuum time, less plug/unplug time. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a quality, high-performance, efficient and easy to use vac. Read more Less
Pros: everything, could not ask for more in a vacuum
Cons: Lint get caught in the little filter holes
We have had this model for several years and it is the best vacuum we have ever owned. It is worth every penny.
Pros: Worked great at first
Cons: Heavy, when opening canister to dispense into garbage, be careful as lots of allergens can be released into air
I had only used this vacuum only six or seven times over hard wood floors and over large rugs. I also used the on board tools. It lost it's power to "suck up" anything after such little usage. When I took it in for repair, it was going to cost over $...350 just for the repair!!! This vacuum cleaner cost $500 alone! The repair center said they see this type of repair common among this model of the Dyson. I have used this repair center in the past and I knew they were reliable. Because it was beyond the warranty period, I left the damn thing there and went to consumer reports to look for a new vacuum. Now I never buy any appliance without consulting consumer reports!
