    I never had any problems

    By Matt  Mar 23, 2006

Pros: Great graphics capability, easy to install (everything even drivers) and much more

Cons: starting to show its age when used with some newer programs

I personally have never had a problem with this card. I was a rabid Nvidia fan, until I bought a 5600 and was very disapointed that my old Geforce 4 was outperforming it. So I switched to a 9800 pro and I was floored by its power. I have had the same... card for over two years now and while I recently upgraded to a X800 pro my uncle is still using the 9800 with no problems. He is running call of duty 2 on it with high settings and a frame rate of about 30fps. Now that the price has come down quite a bit I would recommend this card to anyone who would like to have great graphics at a budget price. Read more Less

    Best deal for the money

By paul_l_obrien  Jun 10, 2004 | 3 out of 3 found this ATI Technologies ATI RADEON 9800 PRO Video Card review helpful

Pros: High quality card for less than $300

    Cons: Some bugs

    Excellent display, high resolution.
I am experiencing the occassional freeze on newer, high load games but I've found that setting adjustments clear that up. I'd bet that with future driver updates, these will be fixed.

The warranty alone makes this one of the best Radeon 9800 Pro cards currently available. When you take into account the excellent value for money and good performance, the Crucial card is hard to beat. The only thing that slightly lets it down is its noisy fan. Read more

    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

In conclusion, the ATI 9800 Pro is without a doubt the best choice for people looking to get a graphic card that will be able to run next generation games without burning $500. As you saw from the benchmark results, with a little overclocking, the 9800 Pro can perform very close to the stock 9800 XT. Read more
