Does everything well for a small office

Pros: All Features in one unit, does everything well except printing pictures

Cons: Using Envelopes with the Manual Feed

My first Brother printer. HP has failed me too many times recently in my office. Sturdy and dependable construction. The auto document feeder is what you get for the price, the paper jam lid for it could feel sturdier. This printer satisfies all poss...ible needs and satisifies them well, except for a few. Monochrome picture printing quality is just ok. When manual feeding envelopes the text is often printed crooked and offcenter even when being meticulous about placing the envelope in the manual feeder, the post hasnt had a problem though. The return address for envelopes in MSWord needs an extra space above it so it doesnt get cut off. I have owned this printer for 8 months of heavy use without a problem. Read more Less

Pros: 5 in 1 laser, all the features are networked, fast, compact, cheap

Cons: holds 250 sheets, brother software needs more updates

The Brother MFC 7820n is a rare printer that actually delievers everything it advertises. As a networked printer, scanner, pc/standalone fax send, and stand alone copier, this machines offers so much for less than $250. To setup, just plug in an e...thernet cable (it supports usb), power cable, and the toner cartridge. Then pop the driver cd to install the client on your computer. Everything is automatically configured. You can accomplish tasks in two ways. Use the client from your computer to access the funcitons on the MFC. You can scan, print, and fax from the client. Or you can do those things from the MFC and send the job to the computer. For example, when you scan from the MFC, a menu pops up to select the computer that you want to send the image to. This is very convient. Overall, the feature set is very rich and nicely implemented. Plus its very affordable. Read more Less
