GE Profile SCA1000HBB Advantium® 120 Above-the-Cooktop Oven uses Sensor cooking controls to automatically adjust the time and power for perfect cooking results. This microwave provides you with a variety of cooking modes. It combines four ovens in one with speedcook, traditional, sensor microwave and warming options for a perfect second oven. Speedcook technology delivers oven-quality food up to four times faster than a conventional oven. Installation allows for placement over a countertop, range or cooktop and plugs into any standard 120-volt/15-amp outlet. Because of this, the unit is not only great as a microwave, but also has several convenient features which assist you with your stovetop cooking. It provides you with brilliant, natural-looking lighting that illuminates every inch of the cooking surface beneath it. It has a built in Two-Speed, 300-CFM Venting System as well, which quickly removes smoke and steam from the cooktop. With a stainless steel interior that cleans quickly with a wipe of a towel, this proves to be a very convenient and well functioning microwave.

    Pros: lots of features

    Cons: inside light burns out fast

    GE says the inside is warranted for 3 years but it doesn't cover the inside light. Light has burned out twice in less than 18 months. After 12 months it will cost you a service call (avg. $69) to replace a $7 light bulb. The entire unit has to be un...plugged and removed from the wall to replace the light. This particular model has demonstrated problems with the light according to a local repair company. Read more Less

    Pros: GE Brandname - good quality aside from bulb

    Cons: Serviceability of Lamp / bulb (lasts only 3-4mos)

    We've had this model for 3yrs. Lamp burns out constantly, requiring full removal of unit to service. For an over-the-range mounted microwave / roaster over, this is unacceptable. GE is normally known for their quality and design. They completely mis...sed the boat on the serviceability of this model. With GE, I expect more....and is why I purchased GE in the first place. Will carefully consider all other brands of appliances in the future for serviceability. A good appliance, except for the issue with the lamp. Read more Less
