Great Speakers, great price

I purchased these originally I was downsizing from large, horn loaded speakers and I didn't have much for expectations. I went to a local Bose showroom, expecting something okay, what I got was something I like better than my $1600 a pair speakers th...ese are replacing. The tonal and spatial qualities of these speakers are outstanding. Bass really rolls off @ 50 hz or so, but they are great for video games, movies and what have you. The dynamic range of these little guys is pretty amazing for small box speakers. Speaking of small box, the 301's if placed along a wall with room for the direct/reflecting action to really work they have a bigger sound stage speakers costing four times their price. There is no directionality, just a room full of music with nice tonal quality. Bose is good at design, the 301's, a long standing Bose model are exemplary of this tradition. I really like these speakers, after a life time of horn loaded speakers, these are truly a wonderful change. Read more Less
