Pros: Large battery life and sound features

    Cons: Not the lightest player

I recently bought the Sony NW-HD3 MP3 player and was impressed with what I got.The player boasts a 20 GB capacity and upgrades from what was seen in the NW-HD1.This is mainly the introduction of the player being compatable with the mP3 format and tha...t not everything has to be converted to ATRAC.It has also kept the good features from the HD1 model i.e, easy to use and the sonic stage software. What attracted me to the player was the high battery life (approx 30hrs) and its small size. Also, when using the player, i discovered that there are a large amount of options to play around with in terms of sound. This includes customising the bass and treble output and giving the music a certain effect i.e, you can give the music a feel of studio, live, arena etc. With that said, i would say that the high volume output is a special feature, meaning that there are no worries of the player being very feeble in terms of volume output( experienced with other mP3 players) In mentioning these points there are some aspects of the player which may be percieved as down sides.Firstly, it can weigh quite a bit( not too heavy, but heavy enough so that you know its there). What i mean is that it is nothing terrible, but those who want a lightweight mp3 player should look elsewhere.Secondly, some would see it as not having any special, extra features i.e, games and a clock. But I personally think that these would be unnecessary in an mp3 player( already in mobiles). With that said, the Sony NW-HD3 Mp3 player is plain and simple in its job as being an efficient music player. Overall, a very good buy that is not to be underestimated Take my advice, This player is better value for money than the I-Pod, You'll be surprised. Read more Less

Sony Network Walkman NW-HD3 (20GB, Silver)

Sony's 20GB HD3 may not have the HD1's looks and battery life, but its native MP3 support and flashy new colors make it a better choice overall. Read more
