Final Fantasy VII Explore a world of black destruction -- and unimaginable beauty. Wander through dripping sewers, abandoned towns, ancient forests. Bustling cities stand high above the slums they have created on a plate supported by pillars, forever shunning the poverty and ruination from view. Despite the yet-untouched breathtaking splendor on the outskirts of the planet or the candy-colored, plastic fasade of the Las Vegas-style commerce center, this is a world without hope of tomorrow. The mega-conglomerate Shinra, Inc. has a stranglehold over the planet's natural resources through their Mako Reactors, which permanently leach the essential life-force from the land. A few rebel groups have been formed to fight these sinister forces. The most powerful of these groups, AVALANCHE, includes some of the strongest, cleverest and most passionate fighters the world has seen, all of whom have lost something of personal value to the evil corporation or perhaps have suffered even greater indignities. With the addition of their newest member, Cloud Strife, a former Shinra SOLDIER, AVALANCHE may just be primed to win back control of the world. Playing primarily as Cloud, you have the starring role in an epic saga that spans 3 CDs of gameplay -- and will call on both your physical and mental powers. Prepare for terrorism, cross-dressing, a train graveyard, a city-sized amusement park, fortune-telling, animal racing, stealing, snowboarding, and the fight of Cloud's life, which will take you deep inside the planet.

    Pros: Storyline, Combat, Skills, solid RPG

    Cons: Very long, Difficult at times

    As sephiroth decended, he plunged his sword into her heart... I had worked so hard... I got her to love me... And he killed her just like that... When a video game brings a tear to your eye, that's powerful. Final Fantasy has always been known as the... pinnacle in the RPG genre since it's first installment on NES. This game was many gamers' first introduction to not only the series but the genre, making it a definitive RPG for many. This game will keep you playing to the very end hanging on every twist and turn you go through with the charactars. Truly a memorible gaming experience. Read more Less

    I believe that Final Fantasy VII is the best game I have ever played. It is a must have for any Playstation or even Plasystation2 owner. The characters are believable and deep. The plot is rich and touching. It was a large step in RPGs, securing many... firsts. It pioneered the way not only for the Final Fantasy series on Playstaion but for many other RPGs as well. An overall great game, and I believe it is the best in the series without question. The systems used in this game work wonderfully once you understand them. Understanding them isn't too hard. The music score is awsome, with a new song almost every new screen. I have played it over and over. It is an original game and can still be compared to the latest games. The most fun I've ever had playing any game. Read more Less
