    Pros: Good video quality

    Cons: DVD playback locks up

    I wanted to make DVD's of my old VHS home movies, but after burning one and watching it lock up repeatedly on playback, I was quite disappointed. I even put in a commercial DVD (movie), and this also locked up to the point where the only way to get o...ut of the lock, was to eject the DVD. I took this item back to my local Best Buy, and after seeing that the only other two on the shelf had also been returned, I did not get a replacement. Read more Less

    Pros: It plays commercial movies

    Cons: Won't play my burned DVDs

    My old DVD player went out for the last time. So I decided to get a DVD/VHS player recorder. I have a lot of family VHSs to transfer to DVD. I have a SONY mini-DVD camcorder, SONY supplied editing software, SONY DVD burner and a SONY TV. I wanted to ...be sure that my new player would be compatible, so I bought another SONY. BIG MISTAKE! The home movies that I had already burned will not play on this player/recorder. After 3 hours and 4 technicians with SONY support, I found that they changed the acceptable formats on their newer models. And they will not allow me to return it. Needless to say, I have purchased MY LAST SONY PRODUCT. Read more Less

    Pros: When it works its fine

    Cons: it broke down after just 12 month

    Not recommended, it worked fine for a while but after recording it started to reject DVD + and - disks. It's under warranty but have to return to store 30 miles away so they can ship back to Texas. Not very convenient

    Pros: Great Quality

    Cons: None yet

    So far this thing has been a dream! Can record straight to DVD in great quality!
    as of right now highly recommended!
