Pros: Complete CD solution
Cons: It's haunted
Ive made 8,000 plus CDs with this thing. When it's up and running It's pretty amazing. Problem is is that the dang thing has a mind of it's own. What I mean is that it has errors galore but not due to any particular reason that you are accustomed to... when dealing with hardware/software. It has a different problem almost every time. Weird. Sometimes it will drop discs. Sometimes it will fail to pick them up. Sometimes it will load a disc into the drive tray when there is one still in it. Sometimes it will make a grinding sound. Sometimes it will etc. etc...... Try re installing the software? LOL, yeah, about 5 times. Try reformatting your hard drive? Done that. Download updates and patches? Done that. Try running the unit with no other programs running simultanously? Been there. Spend hours using their online trouble shooting database? Yep. Emails out the wazoo to tech support? Yes, ad nausiam. Send the unit back for repairs and test runs? Just twice. Things were pretty decent for about a year and then for the next year its been pretty much hell. This thing is going to ebay. I feel for the poor sod that gets this thing next. Kinda reminds me of that episode of the twighlight zone where some guy buys a magic little box at an oriental curio shop where ever who has possession of the box has nothing but nightmarish things happen to them. Getcha some. Read more Less
Pros: When it works it is useful.
Cons: Primera does not stand behind their products.
I have had a unit for about a year. It has always dropped disks, and has had poor software from day one. But that is not the bad part of owning one of these units. As a matter of fact, if those were the only problems I might recommend the unit. B...e aware of Primera policies and quality issues. 59$ shipping to send a unit in for repair. 100$ per hour repair fee. The units have mechanical issues due to low quality components and after about a year, will need to be sent in for repair, YOU Pay. They bill you what they want, and if you do not pay quickly they sell your unit and return the difference less 500$ admin fee. If you get a unit fixed it will be gone around two weeks, but there are no defined time periods. Tech support has never responded to any of my emails, even ones that only ask how to get a unit repaired. Based on quality and price, I print my labels on my Magicolor 7300 laser printer, and stick them on. It is approx 60 times faster and they are not smeared. I would not recommend this product or company to anyone. Read more Less
