Pros: Programmable,Good coffee,Attractive
Cons: Pricey
I had to buy a new coffee maker on the spur of the moment after my Mr. Coffee maker, of 32 years, went to "coffee maker heaven" (RIP).
I did no research before going to the store. There weren't very many models to choose from at the store that I went to. Though I have only made two pots of coffee with mine so far, I feel like I made a pretty good choice.
I chose this coffee maker because it has a thermal carafe, the size of the pot, it's programmable, and it's attractive looks.
I think that the pot pours well, but you do pretty much have to tip it upside down to get the last drops out. Other reveiws I read elsewhere stated difficulty in programming, plastic odor and taste, and air bubbles in the water level viewer. I have not had any problem with any of these things at all.
Pros: Stainless steel carafe
Cons: none that I am aware of
This Krups runs circles around my previous B&D coffee maker.
I do not have to bleach the Krup's lid (to the carafe) like I had to do with the B&D. The B&D had mold all inside the lid, and it was a job to get it out.
My coffee is hot with this Krup's, unlike the luke warm temp of the B&D.
The Krups has a stainless steel carafe, vs the glass carafe of the B&D.
You can't go wrong with this coffee maker.
Pros: Makes you appear affluent
Cons: Makes you feel stupid
Poorly designed and executed. The principal problem is that air bubbles form when you pour water in the tank. There is no simple way to measure water. I took back the first 2 assuming a quality control problem but it fails and it fails consistently.
The carafe is also built in such a way that it has to be turned completely over to pour out the last cup of coffee. I've never purchased such a poorly designed and manufactured product from what I assumed was a reputable company. It's like a Rolex you buy on the street that looks swell but doesn't tell time. I got this applaince paying retail from a trustworthy vendor. As long as you don't drink coffee you'll have a stylish accessory
Pros: solid
Cons: pricey
If a coffee maker can make one feel demeaned, it may be the fault of the user, not the machine.
I always that assumed a full coffee pot of water was required to brew a near same amount of coffee (when combined with fine ground coffee, and taking into account evaporation that occurs throughout the brewing process).
I guess I'm just old-fashioned that way. Anyway...
In a market filled with low-end, plastic leak machines, the Krups stands out in terms of high quality and, hopefully, given the hefty price tag, durability.
Pros: who knows?
Cons: machine kept shutting off, so I never made coffee
The machine would work for about ten seconds, and shut off. I had to keep pressing the on button, which would get me ten more seconds. The customer help person couldn't help.
Back it went to the store.
Also - the instruction book had tiny print, very hard to read, and stingy with words.
Pros: Looks good
Cons: Leaks
Took it out of the box only to find that it won't hold water--any water. It leaked straight through.
Pros: Worked for the 1st month
Cons: Quit working, ahd to send back
After 1 month of using this coffeemaker, it quit working. The message kept displaying that the water resivoir was empty. After much trouble shooting and wasting of time, i gave up and sent it back for repairs. I bought it online, and there return policy was basically non-existent.
Also the water level indicator never worked from the start. It will fill with air in between the water. I called Krups and the guy I talked confessed that the problem I was having was not that uncommon. They gave much a service center to send it to for repairs at my own shipping expense. Hoepfully I will get a working model back soon.
I will say I have had good luck with Krups coffe makers in the past, so hopefully I will get back a maker that works for longer than 1 month.
Pros: Makes Coffee
Cons: poor quality
Air bubbles form when you pour water in the tank, It's hard to fill with water and after one year of use the electronics failed. I can no longer program it or use the features I would expect from a $100.00 coffee maker.
Pros: Looks good
Cons: Poor performance
After about one month, this coffee maker stopped working. The indicator said that there was not water, althought it was full. We sent it back for repairs which took about 5 weeks. What are you suppose to do for coffee for those 5 weeks? We bought a cheap Mr. Coffee Maker and it outperformed the Krupps. Also, there is a alarm that goes off when the burner is shutting off that can not be turned off.
I never take time to write reviews but this product is so bad, I just had to write in.
Pros: none
Cons: coffeewillnotstaywarm/
ever
purchased@dillards in st.louis they will not take it back . cost one hundred not worth a missouri buck and the buck stops here.
