I had to buy a new coffee maker on the spur of the moment after my Mr. Coffee maker, of 32 years, went to "coffee maker heaven" (RIP). I did no research before going to the store. There weren't very many models to choose from at the store that I wen...t to. Though I have only made two pots of coffee with mine so far, I feel like I made a pretty good choice. I chose this coffee maker because it has a thermal carafe, the size of the pot, it's programmable, and it's attractive looks. I think that the pot pours well, but you do pretty much have to tip it upside down to get the last drops out. Other reveiws I read elsewhere stated difficulty in programming, plastic odor and taste, and air bubbles in the water level viewer. I have not had any problem with any of these things at all. Took it out of the box only to find that it won't hold water--any water. It leaked straight through.
I have had this machine about 2 years. The stainless thermal carafe and coffee maker seem well made and have given me 0 problems. Do not have to worry about a broke carage. I never make a full pot, but I always premeasure the water and put it in the ...reserviour. Not sure why they need a hot plate since the caraffe is thermal. I hate the taste of burnt coffee, this never gives that taste. My water tastes good on its own so I do not use the charcoal filter. Easy to clean using vinegar. Read more Less
After about one month, this coffee maker stopped working. The indicator said that there was not water, althought it was full. We sent it back for repairs which took about 5 weeks. What are you suppose to do for coffee for those 5 weeks? We bought a c...heap Mr. Coffee Maker and it outperformed the Krupps. Also, there is a alarm that goes off when the burner is shutting off that can not be turned off. I never take time to write reviews but this product is so bad, I just had to write in. Read more Less
Coffee pot hard to pour from runs all over. When filling water runs onto hot plate. Water leavel gauage no good. Water leaks from bottom of coffee maker if not turned on righ a way. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Air bubbles form when you pour water in the tank, It's hard to fill with water and after one year of use the electronics failed. I can no longer program it or use the features I would expect from a $100.00 coffee maker.
I've had mine for two years and love it. We use it every day. I love the stainless carafe and the fact that it does not continue to "burn" the coffee. I would definitely buy another - infact did buy one for my office that is also still going strong -... and you know what a beating they can take. Read more Less
purchased@dillards in st.louis they will not take it back . cost one hundred not worth a missouri buck and the buck stops here.
The machine would work for about ten seconds, and shut off. I had to keep pressing the on button, which would get me ten more seconds. The customer help person couldn't help. Back it went to the store. Also - the instruction book had tiny print, ve...ry hard to read, and stingy with words. Read more Less
This is the best coffee maker. I've had mine for over 4 years, makes great coffee in minimal minutes. Maybe the other users had a "lemon" but mine is great. I have one at the Lake House also, it's nearly the same age and still working great.
Four control buttons on the front of the FMF5's base operate the machine. The On/Off button turns on the machine and allows you to turn off the machine any time during the brew cycle. Read more
