Pros: lot's of features, good image quality, great zoom
If you don't mind the size and want a big zoom, then this is a great camera. Learning to use all the settings takes some time. And for some advanced settings you will need a knowledge in photography. the quality of the images if taken correctly (r...ead the manual) is amazing! And extra piece of avice: buy an extra battery and have it charged and ready. Not that the battery life is bad, but it's always a good idea to have an extra with you. Read more Less

great camera. My first digital and most people said to drop down a step because this camera has many pro features. I got it anyway and it took less than a month to get really comfortable with settings and what to use for the best shot. I had no camer...a experience before. You can do amazing things whith this model. You will honestly love taking pictures. The image and zoom ability allow you to do what you cant do with a cheap camera. I take it everywhere. Pros: Lots of features in the cam
Cons: Very mediocre image quality
Picture quality has always been my overriding priority in a camera, and I was disapointed with the images I got from this one. The features were great, but the images from comprable cams from some of the other brands i have used were much better.
Pros: Image stabilization
Cons: None at this time
Excellent camera for a beginner or Pro. I bought the wide angle and telephoto lens with some filters and have produced some fantastic picture. Even the movie quality is great. You can down load into QuickTime and watch your short movies when ever you... want. As you know, it is hard to take evening pictures with a digital camera however; the P850 does a pretty good job, just make sure that you take a picture with and without a flash and compare. Great camera. Lots of great features. The auto zoom makes life easy. Easy to use software. This camera is just right for family use pictures. Great for Holidays and Outtings.
Pros: Excellent Product for the price
Cons: It is a gem
I never thought that this camera will be that great, this is my first digital camera, as my son is graduating. I was told not to get this one, but I thought to give this one a chance, and I think that I made the right choice
Pros: This camera does it all.
Cons: none as of yet.
I purchased this camera at a local buyers club for far less than the listed prices. I have had it a month, and absolutely love it. I have had 3 Kodak "point and shoot" cameras, and this was the next step I needed. Great zooming, good low light, great... overall performance, Pictures are colorful and clean. Remember it's a 5.1mp camera, so don't expect 7mp results. Kodak really could sell alot more of these if they did a better job of marketing them. This is one hot camera for the price! My wife has a digital SLR, and I can run right with the best of them, since this purchase! Read more Less
Pros: Image stabilization, huge zoom, very versatile
Cons: Inconsistant autofocus / very poor low light auto focus
I've been using the P850 for more than six months now. I have been very pleased with the results and recommend the camera. At first the exterior of the camera may be a bit intimidating thanks to the myriad buttons, dials, and joystick. While there is... some learning curve you soon find that the controls on this camera are vey well laid out and offer a lot of control without going to the settings menu. The picture quality is pleasing. Sharpness does leave something to be desired but is more than made up for with vibrant colors that are well saturated and true to life. My greatest complaint is with the autofocus. In bright outdoor light the autofocus works fine. Most of the time. For some reason the autofocus will sometimes become very slow in good lighting when the camera is in auto mode. I have not seen this problem in any other shooting mode. However, all shooting modes are slow to focus in low light. The lower the light the slower the focus time. This problem worsens when using the telephoto lense. I like my P850. For the money I don't think you can get better pefroming camera with as many features. If you want to pay more you can get a camera with an equal feature set but I don't think the autofocus improvement, marginally increased sharpness, and loss of color would be worth the upgrade. Pros: great picture quality, lots of features, easy to use, good zoom, long battery life
Cons: joystick sucks
This was the first digital camera I bought and I bought it because it was well priced for its features, zoom, and megapixels. It takes fantastic pictures and the zoom gets really close up from a good distance away. The only set back was when I los...t the battery charger I went through hell finding a replacement and the joysticks that allows you to scroll broke and its really hard for me to erase pictures.
